Latina.com Smoky Eye Video

Recently I had the pleasure of having Latina Magazine visit me at    Mint The Salon in NY for a makeup video on how to accomplish the perfect smoky eye. My beautiful model was Jessica Caban and I could not have asked for a nicer, more gorgeous Latina for the feature (Thanks Melissa Swider and Top 5 Management for the introduction).

Check out the video and see my makeup recommendations below:

Use the Natures Paradise Palette for your eyeshadow and apply the light gold color over your lid from lash line to brow bone. Then use the dark brown shadow very lightly on your lid from lash line to crease.
Intensify this dark shadow on the crease in a back and forth motion to make your eye appear deeper.
Take the Intensity Gel Liner from the inner corner of the eye across the lid and extend it at the corner for a cat-eye effect.  Don't forget to line the lower lid and blend with a little dark shadow for a softer effect.
Use the Triple Impact Mascara on both upper and lower lashes to finish your perfect smoky eye.

Thanks Latina Magazine, Jessica Caban and Mint The Salon for a great day taping this feature!

Get The Look: Olivia Palermo in Elle Mexico

Spring's hottest makeup can be found in the current issue of Elle Mexico with the gorgeous Olivia Palermo on the cover. She was photographed by Steven Gomillion and Dennis Leupold, who inspired me to give her a powerfully sexy look perfect for the above beauty shot.

GET OLIVIA'S LOOK
Re-created with the following Pür Minerals products:

1. Correcting Primer in Neutral
5. Mineral Shea Butter Lipstick in Pink Diamond

MAKEUP LESSON
*I love spring looks because they are made for an easy transition from editorial to reality and the makeup I use on set is perfect for every skin tone.
*To get Olivia's radiant skin, first prep with Pür Minerals Correcting Primer in Neutral. The advanced formula in this foundation primer provides you a flawless airbrushed look.
*Next, apply the 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation with SPF 15 to cover imperfections and obtain smooth coverage in 60 seconds or less.
*To define cheekbones, apply the blush from Nature's Paradise Palette for a healthy-looking glow.
*From the six island-inspired eye shadows in the Nature's Paradise Palette use the dark brown eye shadow to bring out the color in your eyes and the light gold shadow for a natural, yet dazzling, look.
*Another great benefit of using the above palette is that it has a Tropic Bronze sun-soaked powder in the palette as well, which is can be brushed over your face, neck and body.
*I chose a luscious Mineral Shea Butter Lipstick that hydrates your lips as the sparkling pale pink suited Olivia's coloring.

Try the above easy steps for an effortlessly spring look and enjoy the great season ahead of us.

Men's Skincare for BLANK Magazine

I recently had the pleasure of working on the latest cover of Blank Magazine with the amazing photographers Steven Gomillion and Dennis Leopold from GNL Studios and had the greatest time with them.
This week I wanted to share with you some of my favorite products I used on set while being surrounded by so many handsome men. If you have a boyfriend, guy-friend, husband or someone in need of some great skincare recommendations then pay attention because these are everyday-friendly items that work perfectly for when getting men camera ready.

Start by trying the Lab Series Water Lotion to clean the skin and lightly hydrate it. The packaging is perfect for any guy who isn't comfortable yet with skincare toiletries so make it a must-have and part of their daily routine.

To give the skin a healthy-looking glow, apply Clinique's Non Streak Gel Bronzer with a BeautyBlender (amazing makeup applicator that will prevent the bronzer from staining your hands) and since the gel bronzer blends in evenly with your natural skin tone you are guaranteed a natural looking tanned look.

Finish the look by using the Peter Thomas Roth Matte Lip Balm - Flavor-free and unisex so make sure to stock up because everyone around you will want one!

Less is more when trying to achieve healthy looking skin so don't worry if you are on set and the hair stylist is looking at you crazy because your gorgeous model was makeup ready in less than 5 minutes.

Blank Magazine - Summer Issue

Another amazing cover I shot for Blank Magazine with GNL Studios was the summer issue - and yes! its hot and sizzling, the perfect recipe for when you desire to be irresistibly desired!
Here are a few tips and tricks I used on set for this shoot:

Clean skin is crucial no matter if you are working in, out, with or without water! I carry in my kit the Korres Pomegranate Wipes and constantly find people loving the scent and how toned and refreshed their skin feels.

To create a beautiful balanced skin try the Victoria's Secret Tinted Moisturizer. Its lightweight and hydrating formula is perfect for spring/summer and can be used instead of your daily foundation while still providing the necessary coverage.

Give your skin a natural-looking glow in any light by using Clarins Bronzing Duo Compact - blend the two flattering colors or use alone for sun-kissed results.

Finish your seductive and desired look with a moisturizing lip balm that will plump and hydrate your lips by trying the Lip Fusion Conditioning Stick in Buff, a sheer nude with just enough hint of color to brighten your face.

A perfect look is not always easy, but it can be accomplished with simplicity.
Summer is right around the corner so desire to be irresistibly desired and try the above products for a better looking you!

Makeup for your Alter Ego

Are you ready the weekend?
Spoil your alter ego and try Illamasqua (pronounced Ill-mas-ka) makeup - a line for the bolder person hiding inside all of us.

This week I'll share with your 3 of my favorite items from their collection that I always carry in my kit - just in case I have a brave celebrity client wanting to experiment.

1. 4-Colour Liquid Metal Palette : Highly pigmented and one of my all-time favorite eye shadow palette! Give yourself the power to shine with these incredible metallic cream shades and let the inner diva come out!

2. False Eye Lashes : Be comfortable with showing a different side and try these handmade lashes created for those brave enough to show their after-dark drama side. I stock up on these lashes when I can because you never know someone will call with a specific request for a different look or simply request for a more dramatic look on set or on the red carpet. Try them over the weekend and get back to me with the number of compliments you get!

3. Lipstick : A color-intense lipstick that has a highly pigmented formula providing you with a flawless finish. My top celebrity clients have asked me to send them samples because they love that their lips look perfect all night long.

Live a colorful life and be adventurous! Visit your local Sephora immediately and let your alter ego know its all going to be good this weekend!
